Cleared Recruitment are supporting a privately owned Australian Defence technology company seeking multiple Software Engineers across various levels of experience, from experienced engineers through to senior technical specialists, who hold baseline clearance or above. (Australian citizens may be considered)
These are exciting opportunities to work on meaningful Defence projects, developing sophisticated software solutions across modelling, simulation, and mission-critical systems. You will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of advanced software capabilities supporting Australia's future Defence needs.

Security Clearance Eligibility:

Baseline, NV1, NV2 or TSPV would be highly regarded.
Due to the nature of this Defence role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain the required Australian Government security clearance. Candidates on temporary visas or holding permanent residency are not eligible for this opportunity and should not apply.


Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience in software engineering, ideally within complex or highly regulated environments
  • Strong commercial experience developing software using Python and/or C++
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices
  • Experience within the Australian Defence industry or Federal Government
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud environments, particularly Microsoft Azure, AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline development and automation
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, using technologies such as Terraform or Ansible
  • Hands-on experience with containerisation and orchestration, particularly Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong Linux experience, ideally across Ubuntu and/or Red Hat
  • Experience working within collaborative engineering teams, including providing technical guidance or mentoring
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to understand client requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions
  • Demonstrated reliability, resilience and strong problem-solving skills
  • Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance

Desirable

  • Experience with Kubernetes, k3s, Nomad, Docker and/or Podman
  • Experience developing and supporting microservices and microservice architectures
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and providing technical leadership within software development teams
